I'm a guitarist, but I'd like to have a bass to use on a few of my songs. I can't put too much money into it, so I need something less than $200. What would be the best bang for my buck?

^pretty much. Get the pretty Ash bodied one. You won't regret it.

I've yet to hear anything bad about any of the instruments on RondoMusic. They have quite a good rep and, coming from an owner of a 6-string Brice purchased through Rondo, they make quality instruments.

my Monterey P-Bass has served me pretty well, looks hot too.
i should think it wouldn't be more than $200, but if it is, it won't be much more.

I used to have a 6 string fretless Douglas from Rondo. It was nothing special. I only heard good things about SX though.

Hamer Slammer. I think it's at least better than anything Dean, Rogue, Ibanez, or Washburn can put out that's under $200.
