Because I am supremely bored, and because no one will care, here is the evolution and stages of my Catalina Maple.
Whee!

The changes are subtle. I like though.

Not bad with all of the setups except the last one. IMO it looks horrendous to play.

Kinda looks like you have to hit at least 3 cymbals at a time, no matter what!

Wow...it's like Darwin. Is it gonna growa tail.???
The thing I like about having a few kits is that every gig is a new deal, have to rethink parts on the fly...try playing FREEWILL on a Bonham kit : ^ )

It looks awkward but it's one of the most comfortable setups i've ever played.

eh, it just depends on if i have batteries for my camera, which is better than the family one, and if i have a tripod, which I usually don't.
Kinda looks like you have to hit at least 3 cymbals at a time, no matter what!
The only things that ever touch are if I crash my 15" thin crash and crash the ride right above it, but I never crash that ride, it's heavier than my ping ride and sound terrible.

it's really not, i think the picture makes it look like it, probably because the 12" tom isn't in the new setup, but my snare and hi-hats are in the exact same spots on the floor as they are in all the other pictures.
it's close enough for me to have been able to whack my elbow on it before.

well once we get the basement cleaned, i'm going to move it out further from the wall and add at least two more cymbals.
so, it'll kinda add a "tail".

I really like the basic one. The kick hat snare crash one

yeah, that one was pretty fun.
i'm thinking about taking the 16" off of the big one that's setup right now and using my old kick and the 12" and 16" and making another small kit like that for the studio space I just got.
