SO I just saw the Midnight showing of StepBrothers...

and its basically the funniest movie ever made.

BUT being the nerdy drummer I am i noticed some things about that DDrum kit that were a little off.

POSSIBLE MOVIE SPOILERS POSSIBLE MOVIE SPOILERS!!!!! but not really

so for a guy that has had this drumset for a while. he has never played on the stock heads that are on it.

Cymbal Angles change repeatedly.

his floor tom doesnt match the rest of the kit in some parts of the movie.

it gets trashed along with some paiste alphas.

Johns set is exactly the same as the guy in the ends except the paiste alphas turned into zildjian A customs and K's.

Johns playing doesnt match up with the music.

However!!! they did a fairly decent job of syncing a solo part of him at the end with some other music.


OVERALL: great funny film. go see it. PLEASE dont flame for picking a movie apart, its just fun little things I noticed and maybe you can find more.

btw. not sure what kind of DDrum it was. but also had a sweet Ludwig Black Beauty snare, zildjian gong, LP mini timbales, and some sort of wind chimes.

Simple way to look at it is, it's drums displayed in the media. It's always portrayed badly. I mean adverts with drums in are stupid, they use drums to signify teenage rebellion half the time in the media.


But yeah I personally think that film look awful lol. But if you liked it thats cool

it looks awful and like every other will ferrell movie. i got dragged to see semi-pro with some friends, and after that i promised myself i would never waste my time on that stuff again.

I saw the trailer and it looked awful. In the movie theatre absolutely no one laughed. I guess Will Ferrell can be funny, but the material looks kind of bad.
