lug lubrication

i have this nasty old drum kit in my band's practice room that needs some maintenance. for starters, the lugs are in desperate need of lubrication. what do you recommend for that?

Vaseline.

Yeah, I also use Vasaline/Petroleum Jelly (same thing).

I just get a bit on my fingers and rub it into the thread of the tension rod. (yes, that sentence was quite sexual)

Motor oil would work just fine too..just make sure the lug is free from dust :)

Unless you want to ruin the whole and fill it with crap, yes.

I use vaseline also...it doesn't run or drip.
