My ratings

A few weeks ago I logged in and noticed that all the ratings I've submitted in sputnik music have disappeared. I notice a thread about a pretty severe database crash but I also notice that only reviews should have been affected, of which I have not yet submitted any. Is it possible to find out what happened to my ratings?

Common sense rules at Sputnikmusic. Abusing the rating system to give certain bands or artist artificially low average scores will not be tolerated. If we discover that a user has systematically been giving certain artists (50 Cent, Britney etc. are always popular) 1/5 , all of their ratings will be deleted immediately. The best way to avoid this is only to rate albums you've heard and given a fair appraisal. Quite frankly, nobody believes that you've listened to and hated Vanilla Ice's entire catalogue. We at Sputnikmusic will not tolerate masochism.

Well I did vote a single album with a rating of 1 by the artist Edwin formerly of I Mother Earth, but to be perfectly honest it's the single worst album I've ever purchased (another spin around the sun). I may have handed out a few bad scores to Britney Spears as well, but I've never made effort to systematically vote all of an artist's work with the lowest vote.
A few (deservingly) bad votes out of the many albums I rated, it seems a draconian countermeasure.

Also, a few weeks ago, when I first noticed this issue, my account was fubar. I didn't have permission to post in any forums nor could I contact the site admins via the contact us option. Anyway, hope this helps.

I don't remember who wrote that part, but it was probably me because I had hoped at the time that most people aren't cognitively impaired when using the Internet.

So I guess I'll just have to suck it up and re-rank all those albums huh? Ah well... something I can get paid to do at work.
