I've been spinning the leak of their upcoming album relentlessly. Probably the best thing I've heard from 2008. The song "Nothing Ever Happened" is kicking my ***.

Has anyone else heard Microcastle yet?

I've heard good things, I'll probably download it eventually. The only other stuff I've got by them is Fluorescent Grey, which is okay.

Yeah, it leaked incredibly early. Fantastic record, I haven't really had enough time to digest it entirely though. It's a lot tighter and poppier than Cryptograms.

I quite liked the new one, it's decent. Cryptograms is decent as well.

I have to admit that having seen Deerhunter live twice, I'm well and truly bored by them...that last gig wasn't particularly good tbh. They have one song I really love ("Strange Lights"), but I'm not gonna listen to them for quite a bit. They're a pretty good band, but nothing special.

Yeah I saw Atlas Sound at ATP and they were really dull for a lot of it, which is a shame because I kinda like that album. He played with broadcast though and they did a broadcast cover and it was cool.

Cryptograms was pretty good but got a little boring at times. I'm hoping the new one will be better, I should probably get it.

also, i tried not to be bothered by this but...Brandon Cox is one of the ugliest people I have ever seen. I've read he's got a medical condition of some sort, but it's still off-putting when you see them live.

Yeah, I saw them live and it creeped me out. He had like 10 layers of strange clothing on and stripped as the set went on.
