you closed your eyes on a greyhound heading north
next destination on a never-ending tour
didn't say a word to the girl you sat beside
she started telling you the story of her life
gazed out the window as she told you who she was
at miles of prairie and a million rays of sun
her voice is sounded like the tires on the road
and floated off like your imagination roams
she asked you what you're looking for
you knew home wasn't home anymore
when last you were around you couldn't stand the sight
of all the places that no longer come to life
and all the memories you held so deep within
you knew that you would never validate again
it's like a movie set without a cast or crew
or a classic novel that you never made it through
i guess the ending has always been assumed
until it took a most unexpected turn
and left you feeling so unsure
I guess home isn't home anymore
next destination on a never-ending tour

gazed out the window as she told you who she was
