Eh, I pretty much don't ever post on here anymore, I'll lurk from some time to time. Anyway, in my search for new music, I've moved away from metal bands and have through other friends discovered the awesome band Yes.
I've only heard their albums, The Yes Album and Fragile, both I find to be fun to listen to and different.
Any of you guys on here fans of Yes?

I like Yes. Pretty much all of their albums up to 90125 are good. My favorite is probably Close to the Edge.

The Yes Album is one of my all-time favourite albums. Close To The Edge and Fragile are both brilliant as well, and Relayer isn't bad either.
Can't say I enjoy anything they've done post-1974ish though.

Yes were brilliant musicians who made some amazing music. I still listen to them.

Yes? No.
Yeah, that was just as funny the second time it was used on one page.
Fragile, Close to the Edge and Relayer are great slabs of prog. Only other I've heard is Tales From Topographic Oceans which was one of the biggest wastes of my time ever.

Seriously, get The Yes Album. It's brilliant.
TFTO is a love/hate album on the whole, I thought it was nonsense.

After the 80 odd minutes it took to listen to, it just amazed me that it went nowhere.

Close to the edge is definitely their best.
Roundabout is my favorite song by them though.

I only own The Yes Album and Close To The Edge, both are brilliant ... and I've ever several songs off other albums due to my dad.
I once saw Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman live, Anderson playing acoustic guitar and Wakeman on a grand piano. It was intense, played quite a few songs from Yes actually ... and then Wakeman ripped it up by doing his own versions of nursery rhymes on the piano, hehe.

My first "real" concert was Dream Theater opening for Yes.
Yes was pretty cool. But I never actually listened to any of their albums.

Fragile is good, but has way too much filler IMO. The Yes Album and CTTE destroy.
Yes is about the most pretentious band this side of Dream Theater as well, but it usually works in their favor.

I met Rick Wakeman in homebase today - he seemed alright, didn't say alot though. He was with his son buying lotsa wood and wheels for a keyboard box/transport or something he said. Maybe he will do the 40th Yes anniversary tour soon
