Ryan Williford: Let's start off with a little background information. How did A Skylit Drive start out?
ASD: Back when we were in high school we all wanted to jam, and have a good time. Since then it's become more of a desired career for all of us.
RW: What are your thoughts on the West Coast scene? Any bands that you see that are on the verge of breaking out?
ASD: The West Coast scene is amazing! Without everyone over here we wouldn't be where we are today. As for bands that we KNOW are going to blow up we'd all definitely agree on Breathe Carolina.
RW: Where do you draw your influences from?
ASD: All of us listen to different styles of music. Everything from: indie, hip hop, rock, metal, hardcore, even country. We all have our own thing, but we also share the same love for the style we play.
RW: What's it like being signed to Tragic Hero records?
ASD: We love being a part of the THR family. We feel comfortable and know our best interests are being looked out for.
RW: What was it like recording with Mitchel Marlow and Al Jacobs on "Wires…And The Concept of Breathing"?
ASD: Both of them are amazing at what they do. We had an absolute blast recording with them! They made us feel right at home.
RW: What was it like working with Jamie King and Kit Walters on "Wires…And The Concept of Breathing"?
ASD: The same as with Mitch and Al ... both of them are awesome guys.
RW: What is your favorite track off the new album and why?
ASD: Oh wow, we all have our own personal favorites, but even everyones' favorites are constantly changing. We're just so happy with every song on the album.
RW: Can you tell us more about " Wires…And The Concept of Breathing "?
ASD: We wanted this album to represent what we truly love. The topics we sing about are more of what the band as a whole are into (ie: fantasy type stuff, knights and armor epic stories, very out of this world fiction tales). You can hear how everyone of us has some of ourselves in the album.
RW: Does the album cover for "Wires…And The Concept of Breathing " have any meaning behind it or did you guys just thought it looked awesome?
ASD: The wires represent what is holding the girl down. The thing that is holding her back from finding herself. Wires and the concept of breathing is symbolism for the act of breaking away from the wires. To truly find what you're about, and who you're to become.
RW: What do you think about the current scene nowadays?
ASD: The kids are all amazing. The devotion they have to their bands is awesome!
RW: What dream tour would you love to be on with any past or present bands?
ASD: Ha, we'd all pick different bands. I guess I'll give you a couple though: Motley Crue, Ratt, KISS, 2Pac, Notorious BIG, etc.
RW: Who would you love to work with on your next album and why?
ASD: Oh man, we haven't thought that far ahead just yet.
RW: What do you think of the Screamo/Post-Hardcore movement that has happened this decade?
ASD: There have been many memorable bands, but there have also been the not-so-memorable ones too, ha! All-in-all it's been a good run.
RW: Who writes the lyrics in the band? What do the lyrics usually deal with?
ASD: Jag writes the lyrics, but everyone had their input too. Just as stated before we had fun writing the lyrics for this album. We wrote out of this world type stuff.
RW: What should fans look forward too for the rest of 2008 and beyond?
ASD: Plenty of tours, good times, and of course more records in the coming years!
RW: Any last comments?
ASD: The response we've received for "Wires" has been amazing, and we'd like to thank everyone that's purchased or even listened to our album.
