shut up, a lot of people supposedly burn in hell for not being Christian. I got into a discussion with some knowledgable Christians the other day. I asked them a hypothetical question:

If a little girl who never knew Christ was brutally raped several times and killed by her dad, does she go to hell?

And they all said yes. And then they said if the dad repented he would go to Heaven.

Hypothetically, or not hypothetically speaking, the girl would not go to Hell unless she has reached the age of accountability, which I believe in Christianity is 12.

If she was over twelve, she might go to Hell but I can't say for sure. The issue is a murky one and it comes down to her age, and once age is factored in and age is over 12, then it comes down to whether or not she flat out rejected Christ in her lifetime.

If she had never heard the Good News, she might go to heaven.

Sorry to break it to you, but you make a couple of big mistakes. I can't stress how big they really are.

A. Your "discussion" with knowledgable Christians? They don't know jacksquat about Christianity and need to keep their mouths shut.

B. Not all "Christians" are "Christians" per se. It would be helpful to distinguish between the Protestant, evangelical, and cult movements, including Catholicism. Four main branches of Christianity, and if they truly were knowledgeable, then they were not of the Protestant or evangelical movements, fyi, the true branches of Christianity (but not so much evangelicals, mainly just Protestant).

that convinces me that you're beliefs are complete fodder. I hate people like you, you dont even sound like you believe in what you say.

41And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

42And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

43And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

Jesus often said before he healed people, "Your sins are forgiven ye."

We assume that in this case, though it is not specified, that when it says "for she was of the age of twelve years," that she had been held accountable for her sins, as some illness is biblically a direct result of iniquity.

She was forgiven and thus healed and it is reasoned by some that 12 is the age of accountability.

no, i mean relative you idiot

How is it relative to the time period? There is no relation there, only the relation that would suggest that 12 would be the equivalent of like 25 today whereas developmentally, it still equals 12, which if that's what you are trying to say it would seem pointless, no?

dinosaurxbrocore
05-29-2008, 03:55 AM
the relation is between the concept of age (as in what is young and old) and time period

what im saying is that people were expected to be a lot more responsible for their own actions by the age of 12 in biblical times than they are now

in our modern era, a 12 year old cant even work in most cases, so yeah, stfu, your argument about grammar failed, and your interpretation of a concept of COMING OF AGE as a religious standard fails even more.

if we were to take that by a modern sense, then you wouldnt go to hell for not being christian until after the age of 18!

I am not saying I necessarily believe this. Just that some within the Christian community do believe in it.

So to answer his question, no the little girl would not go to hell until she reached the age of accountability, according to some Christians. Others would say she would go to Hell, but I think that there are some extenuating circumstances that could still allow her into heaven and I really don't see any possible way she would go to hell. To sum it up.

adb
05-29-2008, 05:01 AM
I really don't see any possible way she would go to hell. To sum it up.

I said the same damn thing, but I was proved wrong many times, I'll just copy a bunch of **** and you can read it if you want I don't care:

The Bible specifically addresses that all are deserving of condemnation, and that those that are saved are saved by grace. I don't see how it needs to be any more complicated than this.

If the girl was killed and she knew not Christ, then she would remain in the grave forever.

Whereas, if the father truly asked God to forgive him and God saved him, then he would live again after the resurrection.

Is that fair, no. But it is God's prerogative to do what he wants.

Jesus gave a parable of men working in the field, he paid the first group a normal days wage (they agreed), the owner goes out again and finds more workers (he pays them the same as the first group), by afternoon he needs more guys so he goes out and hires them and pays them a days wage. 5 pm arrives and he hires more men to work the field (they would work an hour) and he pays them the same amount as the others.

The first group gripes over this, the owner says "did you not agree to work for the price I offered. It is my right to set up the wages for those i hire, no matter how long they work."

In other words, Jesus will do what he wants, because he can do it and he can offer it. As long as men are willing to accept what he offers, he will continue to give it out.

The parable represents what God is able to do.

He can pay people who work all day say 100.00 and pay the people who come in at the last hour 100.00. The conclusion is that God does what he wants, in-spite of whether you or anyone else thinks it is fair.

Righteousness with God is his Son, his Son is the standard that all will be judged against. That means the young person who at age 5 accepted Christ and lived a godly life and the man who converted at the last hour of life, all will be given the same reward, even though one served longer than the other.

That means if a man killed and raped a woman (who never knew Christ) and the murderer who became saved later, will enter into "heaven" and his victim will not.

The standard is not fair, the standard is Righteous.

Volumnius Flush
05-29-2008, 05:07 AM
I said the same damn thing, but I was proved wrong many times, I'll just copy a bunch of **** and you can read it if you want I don't care:

You make another mistake. The man who allegedly raped the woman where the woman goes to Hell for not knowing Christ and the man goes to Heaven after repentance?

The woman does not necessarily go to Hell. What you people don't understand is you don't have to be saved to get into Heaven! You have to meet certain rigorous criteria.

You want proof. There's your proof.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=47&chapter=10&verse=14&end_verse=16&version=31&context=context

It will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah...

To connect the dots, I will present you a picture since you may not be familiar with biblical events.

Sodom and Gomorrah were cities of great evil that, here's the key, NEVER HEARD THE NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST.

Now the disciples were going out two by two to evangelize the surrounding cities. And Jesus made the distinction that it would be more bearable/tolerable for... and so on.

One city never heard the news. Other cities heard and rejected it. Who will be punished more severely: the city that rejected the news. And the city that never heard the news, it is arguable that they will not be punished whatsoever.

That is a very basic interpretation of this verse.

Also read Luke 12:48.

adb

I've never read the bible, nor have much knowledge on the subject. I'll rep you a link to a forum where you can join in and discuss the scenario of if the girl goes to heaven or hell (with much more knowledgable people than me), if you want (I have the same user name on there).

So I went to Thrash And Burn yesterday at Sonar in Baltimore and it was a really good show. I was pleasantly suprised by After The Burial and Winds Of Plague, who I wasn't really into before yesterday. Arsis, Misery Signals and Arsonists Get All The Girls were the reasons I went (also Light This City but they broke up) and they were all amazing. Darkest Hour was a billion times better live than last time I saw them and Parkway Drive was hilarious and I'll tell you why. I don't know that they've played here before, or recently so they had no idea how popular they are. There were hundreds of kids going nuts for them and singing all of the words to their songs and they were blown away by that. They had no clue they were that popular, lol. I got two Arsis shirts and a Misery Signals shirt and I saw a guy who looked like Mappy, but I'm not sure if it was him, lol.

Great show, I had a great time and I really needed it.

umm ye but i might as well take the tests anyway. its not worth waiting till im 21 and done with college and then taking the test and then having to wait like 5 years. this way, i have the option of hoping into whatever when im 21. i dont mind starting salaries but eventually i wanna b hitting $80,000 after a few years and have benefits. ill just take the tests and ill think it over for the next 3 years

If you wanna hit 80K its gonna take a little bit of time being a cop or a corrections officer. Here you gotta be here like 15 years and get promoted 3 times to get that high up.

They only have one lp, it just came out a month ago. I can't decide if it owns or not, there are way too many breakdowns but they have a good sound.

I really like BtM and I have to say that After The Burial has a more varied sound than them. BtM mostly does chugg chugg sweep chugg sweep repeat whereas AtB has a lot of other things going on. Somehow I still like BtM more though.

those 2 bands. arsosnists get all the girls. the majority of the ppl tehre were for the hardcore dancing so during them they didnt no wut to do unless there were some breakdowns and abigail williams was kinda too fast for them to do taht stuff. i didnt rly like agatg but i enjoyed abigail williams

winds of plague's drummer straight quit on them, so they only got to play one of their originals and a shitty cover (drummers from other bands helped them out)
