After re-watching Lost In Translation yet again a while ago, I decided Bill Murray is my hero.

I grew up watching stuff like Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Stripes (awesome movie, look that shiz up), stuff like that. Old Saturday Night Live DVDs with Bill and John Belushi and Chevy Chase. Great stuff.

But I also think it's cool that he's taking more serious roles. Lost In Translation is probably my favorite movie of 2003. Life Aquatic, I liked. I need to see Broken Flowers all the way through. Coffee and Cigarettes was good.

Bill is just an awesome guy all-around and I really dig the direction he's taking his acting career.

What do you guys think of him? Do you wish he would stick to funny stuff? Do you like his serious stuff? Any upcoming projects you're excited for? Thoughts on him in general?

I've never dug him in anything besides SNL and Caddyshack. I don't know how he got swept up in the Wes Anderson **** show, but he did, and his career has suffered. And hell, he's got another one of those coming out in 09'. The only good movie he has done in 10 years is Rushmore, which is also Wes Anderson's only good movie. He needs to cut this elitist, snobbish, pseudo comedy **** and get back to doing what he does best.

Don't misunderstand me here. I'm not one of those people who thinks Will Ferrell is like Gods gift to comedy. I can respect a lot of oddball things that most people would not find funny. But Bill Murray, and Wes Anderson for that matter, try way too hard, and that kind of pisses me off.

I don't know how a guy like Owen Wilson somehow remains the only shining light in the Anderson movies he is in (I guess just Tenenbaums and Darjeeling?). He is actually funny though.

Owen Wilson is a terrible actor.

Owen Wilson isn't terrible. He's not going to win oscars for dramatic performances, but he knows what he's good at and sticks to it.

I ****ing hate his roles in Wes Anderson movies, but that's because I can't stand those **** films. Lost in Translation is brilliant, one of my 10 favorite movies ever. Also his older movies are pretty good too. His roles in SNL were really funny, but like I said before, I hate his roles in Wes Anderson movies. Rushmore was decent.

Life Aquatic and Royal Tenenbaums were good movies. And Bill Murray was good in them. It was a different kind of comedy then he normally does but it brought the lols.

Bill Murray is pretty much the man. Loved his cameo in Coffee and Cigarettes. Tenenbaums has got to be one of my favorite movies, and I really liked his character in that too. I dunno, I can see how someone might not like him but I think he's sweet.

I finished about half way through Life Aquatic and got the feeling that pretentious indie kids would love this film.

But idk, I guess I'll have to watch it again. I love Bill though.

No really, it was awful.

When my kids ask me, 'Dad, what were the 90's like?', I will not speak. I will simply hand them a copy of Space Jam and plug in the already ancient VCR.
