I got this message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /var/www/html/sputnik/forums/search.php on line 1028

not entirely sure what it means.

um thats the error you get when you search for banned words

like porn, sex, etc

and also when you search for your own username

and also when you search for your own username

I just did a search for porn (which ended up searching for animal photographs) and my name and apart from a bunch people asking me to be banned I didn't get any error.

on the subject of searching has it been permanently disabled? it means i cannot look past user's previous threads or posts

HAHA, thats funny!

I would assume it may have somthing to do with server load. mx disables aspects of vBulletin if the server cant hack it. That would be my guess.

honestly why was searching disabled? I didn't use it much.. but it was nice to at least have the option to search...

because the less user-friendly the boards are the more active they are because instead of sitting around not posting everyone is complaining about the search function and boosting site activity

no you get that when the word you searched for is too common and there are too many results.
