Every week, two families are picked from around the country. Mothers/wives are exchanged and for one week utter chaos is derived from this unholy matrimony.
The premise is that each mother is exchanged for the other and the game begins. For three days the mom lives by the rules of the second family and for the final three days the family lives by the rules of the mother.
Comedy ensues when it turns out that the families are completely opposite and can't stand each other.
But what are we really teaching our kids?
The concept is not new. In 1994, Sissy Spacek starred in Trading Mom, an It's a Wonderful Life type movie where the children got to see what it was like to have a different mother.
There is a worrying fusion of information and entertainment. Our kids are learning from a young age that if you don't like your mom, you can trade her in for a new one. Husbands: If you don't like your wife, trade her in! Just like the Volkswagen.
Now what happens when we make a wife swap, and the new couples turn out liking the new arrangement much better than the old one? Then we have true chaos and utter infidelity and immorality. We are crossing the line between what's adulterous and what is appropriate, and the fact is, adultery is never appropriate.
What would give this show an interesting twist is if the new couples actually shared the same bed, or at the least, slept in the same room, just to give the added pressure and tension for this perverted country's sick and twisted enjoyment.
I just think, we are crossing a line here. The temptation in this day and age is too great and I would hate to see a happy family broken into pieces. I've seen it happen with my family and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I am looking out for our best interests here. We need to watch ourselves and be very careful in this day and age. We don't want to be caught with our pants down, metaphorically or literally.
So be careful and watch yourselves. The devourer is prowling and he wants your soul. So just be careful.
