I have a $100 giftcard. It's been a good year since I've bought new gear.

Enlighten me, or at least idea me.

The setup I use on a day-to-day basis:

Mapex Pro-M in 18x14, 12x9, 14x14. Black Panther Maple Snare.

20" Istanbul Vezir Ride
18" Istanbul Mel Lewis Crash Ride
17" Istanbul Dark Crash
16" Istanbul Traditional Medium Crash
13" K Zildjian Dark Hats

Yammy Flying Dragon Double-Chained Single Pedal.
Remo Fyberskin Heads (Batter and Reso)

And I play mostly jazz, but I'm working on my rock, funk and latin.

In all seriousness, why not invest in some wicked sticks, brushes, mallets, etc? A Jam block perhaps?

Your kit is missing a nice dark sounding splash buddy, those usually run around $100.

I've got a 10" Istanbul Traditional Splash but I don't really like it that much. Sounds more like an Asian Gong.

but, I'd agree with the iso-phones. If I had $100 right now, I actually would probably do that. I want to get some good iso-headphones/earphones soon.

cease.

use the giftcard to get new snare heads. you can never have enough.

or trade it to marco benevento for sex. im sure he could put it towards a new keyboard or something.
thats what i'd do. (sex w/ marco)

I saw Tony (his father) the other day. Marco's doing well.

I think I'm gonna buy all new heads and some sticks.

Opinions? I was gonna go for Aquarian Performance IIs on the toms, Remo Power Stroke 3 or 4 on bass, and an Aquarian New Orleans snare head.

likin the snare head choice(never even heard of it, but i like it already..) performance IIs are good for rock, not so much for jazz i think,

id go withha a evans ec2 or aquarian powerstroke on the kick though...

Sell it for $80 on craigslist - then post an ad looking for $80 worth off weed...

Sticks, heads etc. anything you hate having to pay for when it's time to repalce.

I'd get isoheadphones and a new bass batter head, but that's just me.

I agree, isophones are always good. Allow you to practice along, and save your hearing, which is most important.

I have the Drummer's Custom Earplugs and the Vic Firth phones. I don't need another pair.

I'm probably just going to go to the store, play all the heads blindfolded and pick which ones I like the best.

How's your reso situation also?

i dont know how quickly you go through sticks, but if you go through at least a pair a month, id say just put it towards a brick of sticks. buy in bulk, makes em cheaper in the long run.

I'm in basically the same situation. I got a $100 dollar gift card for a music store for my birthday, but I'm pretty happy with my setup right now and can't think of any drum stuff I really need. I think I may buy some drum heads and maybe sticks and stuff like that. I'd like to try some new heads, as the only heads I've ever used on this set have been coated and clear ambs.

I'd say its a pretty good time to get new heads if you don't need anything else. If your resos are ancient, you might wanna think about picking some of those up, as they are important but not usually a priority for people so they get neglected.

$100...right now i could pick up a new EMAD kick head. Emperor X snare head...maybe a new stick bag, new bass drum beaters and some new Vic Firth 5B's. Maybe that's more than $100...oh well
