View Full Version : The whole Lo-Fi Punk thing that's blowing up.
Are most of you guys digging it?
Like Times New Viking, Psychedelic Horseshit, Pink Reason...basically the stuff off Slitbreeze. To a lesser extent stuff like TV Ghost and maybe even No Age.
I was really into it at first, really liked TNV, but now it's getting kind of boring and the bands seem to have that much replay value for me.
What do you think?

I've never heard of this "genre" or any of the other bands so I really don't think it's "blowing up"

oh cool, Im barely on here anymore thats probably why I didnt notice.
Well in Toronto both No Age and TNV have been definitly getting a lot of buzz, as well as other Slitbreeze groups, whom are getting more attention than they've previously have had. I guess "blowing up" is relative. They've surely increased in popularity lately.
Also noise rock blowing up over twenty years ago is so irrelevant. Great worthless post.

I like Black Lips. Teenage Cool Kids sort of has that sound going too. It's fun to listen to every now and then, but it gets old fast.
I agree that it's been blowing up. I was looking at bands who are stopping in Omaha and they're all either indie or lo-fi punk.

Kevin, you need to step your game up or take a second to think before you post.
Omaha is a fairly small city so when an act comes here, that usually means there getting pretty big and can bring in enough people to be worth the stop.
Indie and alt-rock dominate the scene here. Lo-fi punk MUST be blowing up if it can compete with the usual sound.

Yeah there's so much demand for lo-fi punk its just spilling out of the bigger cities and into little ones!

Or maybe they're from bum**** kansas and aren't big enough to travel to larger cities on a regular basis.

THat is the case sometimes, but I've seen several of these punk bands featured on myspace recently too.
