Hey just wondering if anyone is into the more "melodic" rock music? I'm really into Tupelo Honey right now and that's how i would classify them cuz they're a great rock group and their songs have great melodies. anyways, I'm in love with "Morphine" right. definitely a killer track!

I just listen to "Poets of the Fall" - they are pretty good.
I listened to "Tenhi" before ... they are great!

Incubus' S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself and Morning View were amazing. Three of my favorite albums ever.

Perhaps put As Cities Burn in that slot, then.

hmmmmm, what is melodic rock exactly? Judging by the name, it would make an apt description for somebody like The Beatles, whose main strength was in their melodies.

I think they were rock and roll.

Yeah, melodic rock is a great descriptor because it's so specific.

I don't care what you describe them, I'm just asking what is Melodic Rock exactly. I said judging by the name, they could be classified as such, but as you or no one else is telling me what this style is, I don't know for sure.

It is a very broad term, so whatever you think is rock and melodic is melodic rock.
I don't know of very much rock that isn't melodic so "melodic rock" is an even worse term for a subgenre than "melodic metal."

melodic metal makes sense, cause a lot of deathmetal and grindcore doesn't have melody.
Worst genre I've seen:
Melodic Power Metal.

Melodic metal sort of makes sense even though it's too broad to really be of much use, but "melodic rock" is just retarded

Breaking Benjamin and Crossfade are alright, I guess. If they are even considered melodic rock.

Melodic rock seems to be such a vague term since it could mean radio rock as much as post hardcore. Couldn't Nirvana and Pearl Jam fall under melodic rock?

Nirvana and Pearl Jam are melodic and rock, so yes. I never enjoyed Nirvana much until I got their live album and then i realized they have some neat songs that weren't singles.
