Ok, so I've been hanging out with one of my vocal major friends for the last couple of months and we decided to start playing some of his tunes that he wrote.
Well, things were working out great and we starting writing songs together and playing them at open mic nights around town.
The reception was phenomenal and I was surprised (not that his songs weren't good, but I've never seen people get so excited over music that I've been participating in).
So this isn't a whore-my-drumming thread, but I'm just asking you the check out the music.
It's mainly piano and drums duo (a couple of the songs now have guitar), but check it out and tell me what you think.

You play drums with him? :p

Seriously, though, I liked the music. Could really go somewhere:thumb:

that's pretty good stuff. you're friend is a good singer/songwriter. i was impressed with the drumming too. you have a light touch and resist the temptation to overplay and overpower the songs, which would be easy to do with this kind of music.

i also want to heap praise on whoever the girl is who sings backup on "maybe baby". she has a voice like an angel.

Theresa Cannon, maybe?

I actually think your drumming saved the music from being a complete 80's-esque disaster. I dunno, the songwriting is good but I don't really dig Elton John......
