This is a song that one of my college mates wanted recorded so i put down some drums for him in the studio.

Note that the drums and cymbals are not mine (college drum kit, very ****) and it was recorded live in the studio in 1 take (we had very little time to get this and another song recorded and mixed) so please excuse any mistakes etc.

Let me know what you all think anyway.

yeah, that's decent! the song is pretty fast, and i can hear some tightness issues with the other band members. i don't think the song needs to be that fast. it might be easier to stay together if the song was a little slower. you play some fast sixteenths on the toms from high to low that sound great, but i think you use that fill too much. it gets a little distracting after a while. but overall, the drumming is solid and i liked it.

Wow that was good! Tight drums, nice feel. Clean chops at the start!:thumb:

Guitarists could do with tuning, though :p

dairyairman, yes the song is a little fast in my opinion, but like I said I was only there to record it, I had no input on writing the song or anything.

And yes the guitar could do with tuning, but its not really affecting me in anyway. Although it was a college project, I'm not getting marked on this so its the guitarist/singer who will loose out.

yeah it does suck real bad. A new set of heads and some decent tuning would do wonders for it. I'm not sure of the model, but i know its a Yamaha with little black plastic lugs, probably a good 3 or 4 years old. the cymbals are pretty nice though. 13" A Quick beats, 16" projection crash, 20" projection ride, either 6" or 8" A splash (cant remember which), and 10" AAX splash.

I think thats the one yeah. The roland td8 in the little practice room is getting pretty ****ed now as well. When you hit the snare, it triggers the hi hats and crash as well. We really need some new equipment. But rather than spending money on new heads and stuff lee went and spend £250 on a talk box that no one is going to use.

not too bad, minus the quality of recording on the toms.

the old nouveau lugs before they became metal like mine

the stage customs still come with the black plastic ones.

i don't believe the absolutes ever came with plastic ones, but i could be mistaken. as far as i know they were always metal and only stage customs had plastic ones.

either way if the kit is a stage custom, then proper tuning and heads can make it sound quite good.

^^^ yeah, like organizing that field trip to London he's been promising since January. Not sure if you met her or not, but Anna has come back from maternity leave. She was the course leader in my first year. All it means is that things are going to get even more disorganized lol.
