View Full Version : Xbox 360 Repair?

My brother has a 360 that he broke.

I don't know how he managed it, but all the little prongs on the A/V input are all bent.

Long story short, I want to send it in and have it fixed. I don't mind the wait, and it's far cheaper then buying a new one.

I've got a few questions though:

1) Is there something I could use to simply convert it so that it uses VGA or Component/Composite cables? My TV doesn't have HDMI so that isn't an option.

2) How do I actually go about sending it in? Anyone have any experience? I live in Canada if that makes a difference.

3) Do they actually repair my system, or do they just send me a refurbished one?

Thanks for any help :thumb:

Forget #2. I called them and they are sending me a box. I'd still like to know about numbers 1 and 3 though.

In regard to #1, they do make a VGA cable for the 360 if that's what you're asking.

idk about 3 though, haven't had to send mine in

If only there were an offical Xbox 360 thread where people who own them come together and talk about their 360s.

You know, because that would make perfect sense.

When you rang did you mention about the cost of it?

No, the lady I spoke with said it still might be covered under the warranty. She said that if it's not free, they'll contact me with a price depending on the work that needs to be completed.

Ah k. Fingers crossed they can do it free of charge.

I would have thought not though as the xbox itself did not bend the connections in the back, just your brother. :D

Well, that's what the lady said. She said there is pretty much a 50/50 chance that it could go either way.

So, like you said, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It would.

If it's <12 months it should be covered for everything.
