Don't know who these guys are, and if anyone actually listens to all of that (I just skimmed until the end), but I mean it was a pretty fair analysis. Besides the fact that some bands do have music with their albums (not sure when they did this 'review of sputnik') and their confusion with the dig button (which one of the other guys clarified) it was good. From your comment it seemed like they tore sputnik apart.

the review starts at around the 39th minute for anyone who doesn't want to sit through the other stuff.

Yes, that comment got me too
Really interesting --- they had some good points about songclips, even if we do have some.

I agree with them about the "members also liked," it's a really useful function when an album has enough votes for it to be effective. It'd be cool if that section could be split between like 3-4 reviewers recommendations and 3-4 based on other ratings.

I mean their show is pretty gay though, there is a giant section on the front page for listening parties. And thats been around since 06 hasn't it?

They make a point. While many bands do have a few songs available for stream, playable music is definitely not incorporated as much as it could be. Featured listening parties are real nice though, and something that is not present on a lot of other sites.
I have said before though, and a major gripe I have with the site, is the search system. It would be nice if there was a little "did you mean" feature, similar to google. It seems ridiculous to have to type something in perfectly in order for the band to pop up. Even missing a comma will garner no results for a band.
Also, being able to search by song or album would be nice as well. For an ALBUM review site, it seems quite odd that those are present. I don't think that these things were mentioned. Again, I have mentioned this before, and I don't expect anything to get done about it, but it would seriously increase site functionality. I've never built a website, so I don't know how significant a fix this would be. I think it would help bring in a larger user base though, instead of it just being more of a community site. I mean, we have a lot of users, but I never imagined Sputnik being able to compete with some of the bigger music review sites out there.
Little things like this might give it a fighting chance, but until then, I'm not so sure.
