I have never actually tried recording my singing before, and I hardly ever try to sing, but I guess I've just always wondered what people would think of my voice. So, I'd like to hear your opinion. I just recorded some random short piece of music entitled "I Know", with gibberish lyrics and a nice little melody I just came up with, even though I go out of key more than once. Basically, I'm just looking for honest opinions of voice. Does it sound better in specific parts of the song? How's the tone? Does it sound shitty? Whatever you think of it, just give me the truth.

Mark Lanegan meets Bob Dylan with some pitch problems. But it's not bad, by any means. Just needs to be polished a little bit more.

I think you require quite alot of polishing.
Your voice wavers alot and you don't seem to really know voice the melody you're trying to sing. Tone is pretty good when you do hit what you want, but most of the time you don't seem to have a good idea of what you want to sing.
I'm sorry if this sounds harsh. I'm not a singer myself so you shouldn't take what I say too seriously.
I would suggest working alot on singing the same line over and over. Get a really good idea of how you want to sing that particular line. Record yourself and make sure you sound atleast roughly the way you want to.
Recording is good because you can hear what you really sound like, and not what you think you saound like. Be your own worst critic and I'm sure you'll make vast improvements.
Most people who have it in them to sing just open their mouths and do it without thinking too much about stuff. I have a friend, most musically giftet guy in the world. Plays the piano like a god. His voice fails him though. He can't sing to save his life though.
My honest opinion. Stick to the guitar. Keep singing for your own satisfaction though. I don't think nature intended you to sing. Sorry!
It would be really intresting to hear you sing again down the line. See how much you've improved and changed.
Good luck! (and again, my apologies if I sound harsh.) =)
