PC gaming is just about dead unless you play MMOs

Grab San Andreas (not from Steam, though), and download the Multi-Theft Auto mod which allows online play of San Andreas. Find a racing server, and enjoy. :)

Lego Racers - strangely addictive and fun, but very short.

Not really racing, but check out audiosurf. Any mp3 tracks you store on your computer are generated into playable race tracks. Races vary depending on the amount of notes/speed within the selected mp3 song.

Its only about 5 bucks on steam too.

Free games?

Lol..

Ever wonder why PC game developers have folded up shop and ran to consoles?

Check any watchlist of PC games and compare it to a console. Can't steal console games eh? And you can't cheat a monthly fee to an MMO.

You go ahead and keep stealing games though.

its hardly as if theres no games coming out for PC now is it...

your forgeting RTS as well - just DOES NOT transfer onto console in any meaningful way

Oh I agree. RTS and turn based games like Civ. The PC will always have those more or less.

I just remember 2 years ago there were 4 rows of PC games in any retail electronics store. Now there is barely one rack. Xbox, Wii, PS2 all have their own sections of the store much less a few rows. Surely you must admit that.

I would say that MMOs and Consoles had a lot more to do with that over pirating. However, spending 4 million dollars to develop a game like FarCry only to sell a few thousand copies and find it on thousands of torrents for free is a lot more of the reason PC gaming has died.

Yeah maybe I'm just bitter because I never cared for consoles and now I own two.

I still PC game for stuff like strategy games and rts games, and fps games.

The selection isn't the same now as it was 5 years ago is all I'm saying.

rFactor.

you can download it off there site, and pay for it on there.
http://www.rfactor.net/

Once youve downloaded it, you can go to sites to download mods for it, such as this http://www.rfactorcentral.com/ which from looking, seems to be the best. Theres hundreds of tracks, cars, race series, and other mods you can download on it.

Isnt that what you do with a pc game? :S

I prefer using a controller to a mouse and keyboard anyway.
That and i wont have to buy new hardware to my 360 to play new games with better visuals coming out.

Iv always had consoles though . Right from the Spectrum and the Mega Drive, to my 360!

I think this is all your saying "PC gaming is just about dead unless you play MMOs". PC is hardly dead and like its already been said before, its the superior system for FPS and RTS.

But yea in response to the thread maker, console is definately where the racing games are, Dont make the mistake of picking up any of the Need for Speed's. If you enjoy racing games your definately missing out if your not playing Grand Turismo.
