It's a documentary about the comedian Doug Benson taking a 30 day break from smoking weed and then just smoking as much weed as he possibly can for the next 30 days. So yeah, it's the same thing as super size me. Just with smoking green.

Never been a fan of pot humor, and a riff on Super Size Me just holds no interest to me.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see what actually happens to him though?

Something closer to a smoker's lung, I'd imagine. Weight gain from munchies? Reduced sperm count?

I know enjoyed Super Size Me but I really have no desire to sit through pot humor and pearls of wisdom.

There gonna be a viewing of it at my school put on by some group. I don't really wanna get up to go see it so I just downloaded. Its decent. I don't think he is very funny as a comedian, but there are a few funny parts.

I though Super Size Me was much better.

well see thedeadwalk. there's some people out there who think pot will ruin your life completely and utterly. like THE SECOND YOU smoke it.

they're just trying to show that it ain't no thang.

i dunno if this is a spoiler cause theres not really a plot but here we go

*spoiler*

theres a comparison between his SAT scores, sperm count, lung capacity and memory during the month he didn't smoke and the month he smoked every day non-stop. The difference was negligable.

That's cool, but I doubt this movie has any chance of making headway with them.

But what's the difference from before he ever started smoking? Does 30 days of non-use make up for the years he did? Or, does it compare the results to a non-user?

I'm not coming down on pot, just the science. Though, I should hardly criticize it until I see it. But, I don't want to see it, and so want to criticize it. Awwwwww!

They say in the film, during both 30 day periods, that they could find no permanent physical damage to his body. These scenes are kind of rushed, and they don't seem incredibley scientific, but thats what they say. The only thing that drops off a little bit is his lung capacity, but there could be more factors that affect that every single day. Also, when he was high, his ability to do basic math seemed to go out the window, but if you notice that when they show his SAT scores, both times, his math score is pretty bad, so I could just assume he sucks at math anyways.

Yeah, to be more accurate they should have had someone who never smoked marijuana (or anything else) in their life, then had them smoke 30 days straight of joint after joint. This would have been a more accurate reading of the effects of cannabis on the body.

As far as I know, diminished lung capacity is the only chronic effect from long-term use.

He was no less healthy compared to the average man after the 17 years or so he had been smoking before he started the first month, so it probably doesn't matter much.

yeah he couldn't count backwards for ****, 97, 96, uhhh, 70?, 65? that was pretty funny.

I'd treat it more as lighthearted comedy with some introductory facts to pot culture then a serious test to debunk the pot is bad for you myth.
