I got it....and I have to say AOE 2 the orginal (not expansions) is the best aoe out there...

to bad no1 plays it


aoe 3 is kinda boring to me tbh that said i only played like 5 online matches where i got my *** kicked

I couldn't get into AOE 3 like I did with AOE 2.

I thought it sucked tbh. I was a huge fan of the first and second one, and RTS overall I usually love but AOE3 was poop. I never played online.

i downloaded a rip of this yesterday and i've been playing it off and on and so far it's pretty boring

i always run out of money and never manage to produce enough troops and i'm usually lucky if i can make it as far as the third age whatever it's called before i get completely wiped out

well i've been playing skirmishes against the cpu since yesterday and i've got a decent strategy down now it just takes me like an hour and a half to win a game

AOE II is set around the middle ages, I think you have four tiers dark ages, feudal age, middle age and imperial age with your technology progressing as you move through the ages

so in the dark ages you start out with straw huts and spearmen and by the imperial age all your buildings are tiled and you have access to cool stuff like trebuchets

aoe III is growing on me i've leveled up my home city to about level 10 now and i've gotten the hang of the campaign missions but the era just kind of blows

you should try out Company of Heroes if you haven't already, along with Dawn of War it's my favourite RTS, your PC should be able to handle it if it can play AOE III

Company of Heroes is amazing, much better than age of empires 3. I remember when i first saw the destructable environments and it was amazing.
Anyone remember the custom Age Of Emp 2 game where all you had was castles and infinate resources and you just spammed until all 6 of you had filled up the map with one big battle, that was a classic.

This may as well be a CoH thread now seeing as its better than AoE3 haha.

Campaign too short, terrible Scottish accent, not enough pirates.

AOE2 was awesome.
