I'm getting decent gear!! I just picked up a gorgeous sr2000 a couple of weeks ago, and now i'm in the process of working out a deal for a GK 700rb II with a guy over on talkbass. aaaand i just got off the phone with avatar about putting a hold on a 212 cab the have in their scratch dent section till friday when i've got the money to pay for it! i'm damn excited to actually have somewhat of a decent rig in the making. and on top of it all my band just booked may third and fourth to go and record with a cool little studio we found in San Bernardino, ca. It's called seahorse sound check it out:

Ibanez has some surprisingly tasty looking wood grains.

Awesome bass. Congrats!
How much did it set you back?
Also what do the knobs do?
I see 2 stacked knobs....
2-band EQ for each pickup?

The two stacked knobs are probably bass/treble and mid/mid selector.

I got the rest of my gear today!! The Avatar 212 came in yesterday and the 700RB-II came in today! I'm soooo satisfied with the combination. Real fat punchy clean tone, with plenty of volume. Here's a couple of pics...

the head:

head+cab:

and some other pics of my gear a Mac G4, what i use to record, of course with garage band:

and a pic of most of the family:
http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii90/jordan-z/FAMILYPIC.jpg

left to right: yamaha RBX 774, Ibanez SR405, Ibanez SR2000, applause (by ovation) acoustic, defretted squire p bass, and my fast-track interface with a set of sony headphones. there's a couple of hardshell cases back there too along with that smokin poster of molly sims on my door

i've got an Ampeg 410-HE, gk backline 410, and a behringer 400 head that aren't in there, but o well the latter two don't deserve it anyway

Good call on the GK head. I've got the 400RB-IV, but I dig it a lot. When I upgrade it someday, I may just stay within the GK line.

Yea me too, i've got my sights set on that new fusion 550.

Awesome to see someone else with the exact same bass as me for once, the Yamaha! It's very much an underdog of basses. It's served me very well, though I'm developing some serious desire for having either a Warwick Infinity NT or Vampyre NT....would be sweet to the midget beat.

Its a good bass for the most part, but the tones a little too trebly for me. But it plays nice and is really easy to slap on.

I fully agree with you on that. For myself I find it feels very nice to play, though the tone stops me from being happy to completely settle down with this bass. Definitely affects the tone of any effects or amp it's being used with in a way which I personally don't like. Need to get that warwick to pair it with my own Gallien Krueger amp.........yum
