As some of you know Peter Frampton is famous for his talk box stuff:

My question is, will the talk box work well with a bass guitar? I know they run at less than $200, so if it can fit well with the bass, I might experiment with it.

Do you think using a talk box is hard? You have to be able to sing in pitch, right?
Can someone explain to me how it works?
I've read about it somewhere, but it seems very confusing to me. I just don't understand the concept behind it; if someone could explain, I would appreciate it.

Talk boxes don't commonly sound good with bass because they use very small drivers to produce their sound.

Try and make one:

That should also clear up how they work.

Probably not.

wah, wah wah wah wah wahhh, wah WEEroo wah wah

A talkbox might sound kinda funky with a bass, but first I'd run the signal into a preamp with two outputs and run a clean signal into an amp with a low pass filter or something, or else it'd probably sound really tinny.

I watched a few of his videos. He has some pretty cool synth shiz, and whatnot.

I think I'm definitely going to mess with his design a bit and make my own cheap talk-box. I'll just have it leave from the ext. speaker jack of my 4x10, since I already have the frequencies split from my head anyways.
