Just so you know, all of the sound you hear is changed drastically from real life during the recording process and the choice of head isn't a huge factor in how his snare sounds on an album.

Yup.
Snare material, size, heads & tuning, mic placement, studio acoustics, EQ, compression and reverb.
Good luck getting that Chris Adler sound.

make sure you crank that mofo because he tunes his snare HIGHHHHHH (the best imo)..... i use a high energy also....

Never...ever gotten a good sound out of that head. Ends up sounding like some 80s "birthday cake" ballad snare...with less tone. If you cranked the snare, I guess, but then it just sounds like crap in general.

if you're really using a 12" snare you shouldn't need to crank it super tight to get a high pitched sound.
