Recently been learning Gadd's amazing solo from Aja by Steely Dan..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocfR3CIPFJo - if you havn't heard it.
Apparantly Gadd done it in one take! a true studio player.
The first solo starts about 4:41.. theres another at 5.14 and the final elongated one is at 6.56. I've only learnt the first two solos so far, but im going to tackle the last one soon.
Here it is: http://media.putfile.com/Ajasolorubbish
(the first three attempts are the first solo, the last 2 attempts are of the 2nd solo).. I am playing these a bit slower by the way.
---
I was also messing around with Joshua Redman's version of The Crunge (originally by led zep) which features brian blade on drums. Starts pretty sketchy but I start to get a hold of the groove more as it goes it on. There are a lot of mistakes though.
