thanks everyone/mx. Honestly when I saw the Silver Mount Zion review and saw EC was staff, I was like 'saw that coming' and figured it was just him. Nice surprise though. Kage and EC will always be in a special place in my heart now, staff class of 08!

The Beastie Boys are really my first introduction to Hip-Hop. They are very fun and distribute parts perfectly to each member. The three things that I look for in a hip-hop album are lyrics, rhythm and beat. These guys do that flawlessly. One thing that I do dissaprove of is Girls. It is supposed to be funny and it doesn't fit any of the quotas that I mentioned before. Also, Ad Rock is in it the whole time. He is good but his voice is to whinney and annoying. But this album is very enjoyable.

EDIT: I hate to be beating a dead horse here, but has there been any more thought given to making MikeSN a staff reviewer? He constantly pumps out good quality reviews on a weekly basis, and usuallly will focus his attention to newer releases. Of all the frequent metal reviewers, he also has the most well-rounded taste (which isn't saying too much but w/e).

There are conflicting opinions on what it means to be consistent versus what it means to be repetitive, as well as "longtime commitment to the site through reviews, album and band edits, and not being an asshole on the site" versus 'not being cool enough for a certain in-group because he listens and reviews bad music.'

Go ahead and speculate!

We actually use a sophisticated system to select staff. This past round, we gathered up all avatars of members on the site, placed them on a dartboard, and threw 3 darts. Obviously having a large and/or conspicuous avatar helps with promotion to staff.
