Balancing Soundoffs & Reviews

Is it alright to make a soundoff for every review you write? I noticed that most staff reviews have a corresponding soundoff in case the album becomes a staff pick or makes a staff list. Is it acceptable to do this for all reviews, or just certain reviews, or should I only write soundoffs for albums I'm not writing a full review for? Any help would be appreciated...

Yeah, I don't think you need to have both a review or a sound-off, unless your progression goes from sound-off to fleshing it out to a full review. The reason why we have corresponding staff sound-offs/reviews is exactly as you said: for our picks. We can't staff pick without a sound-off.

I'm thinking about several ways we can make soundoffs more useful to the site -- there are a large segment of users who don't feel like writing full-lengths.

That being said, if you want to write full reviews, it's preferable to a soundoff.
