Modifying My ESP F200

Hey all...I have an ESP F200 and I like EVERYTHING but the pick-ups. I found some Seymore Duncan Dave Mustaine sig pickups on musicians friend I'm considering swapping in place of the EMG HZ's. I was thinking of going to EMG 81/85 actives like on my Viper, but changed my mind. Now my question is, it has the Afterburner (massive gain) effect as a pull out on the tone...can I keep that while switching to other pickups? I kind of like it for that crazy digital sound. And is the pickup swap pretty straight forward? Never done it before, but I am familiar with wiring and what not. Thank you for your help in advance, :chug:

Most likely it will be fine. It's probably an extra stage after the regular preamp stage so the pickups shouldn't make a difference.
