Well, erm, they started off as sort of an offshoot of Godspeed You Black Emperor, but they've since added some new members and grown into their own. The new records sound very little like Godspeed. They now have two guitarists, two violins, a cello, a contrabass, and drums.

That said, the new one is kind of folky with nice rock build ups and lots of chanting vocals and good melodies, but it's a bit darker and more intense than usual.

Meh, I didn't really enjoy it. I was expecting to love it since it seems to be one of their most aggressive releases, but I just found the songs forgettable and uninspired. Different strokes I guess.

I don't really like what I assume to be Efrim's vocals, but they are a lot better than the earlier stuff.

Sometimes Efrim sounds great, but other times I find it hard to listen to him. It's hit and miss for me.

Its isn't anything like their old records but it is still amazing. Definitely not their best to date but still really really good. Blindblindblind is easily the best track, its just such a good display of what makes ASMZ so good.
