I love Henry Rollins. I don't always agree with him, but in this video, he couldn't be any more right.

This is definitely one of the dumbest thing I've ever watched.

Henry Rollins is much funnier when he's not reading from the MTV autocue. I have a fifteen minutes long rant of his on my computer about how he was going to be outed as a gay and CNN was going to get an exclusive. He goes on about how homophobia is moronic, as is racism, and he's hilarious about it. But this video was dumb, dontcha know.

I don't feel 14 enough for that rant.

He actually makes funny jokes. Very Bill Hicksian:
"You know how much CNN would care if I was gay? They'd send one spotty kid with a fanzine and a broken tape recorder; 'So dude are you a fag?' That's how much they would care."
It's funnier when he says it 'cos of timing and enunciation and stuff. He doesn't sound as stupid as he did on that video.

I love him, he does get a bit preachy and corny at times, but his message is good.

He's an amazing story teller... I think I have a couple days worth of his spoken word stuff in my mp3 collection

No one can stack up to Bill Hicks, though. imo
Knifeboy

Yeah, Bill Hicks is the king... Henry Rollins isn't really trying to match him though, Rollins isn't exactly doing standup.

I liked the constant hand gestures to mask the fact he hasn't said anything of substance.

Well like most punk fans I thoroughly enjoy Damaged in its entirety. I think My War is still a great album although it seems most critics think that it was Black Flags falling point. The title track alone is intense enough to make up for any mistake they could have ever made ever though so whatever.

from my war on they started getting heavier and slower.
by the end of it they all hated each other. ginn was a control-freak and rollins was just a total prick. chuck dukowski had the right idea about leaving when he did.

I don't really care for hardcore punk or the culture that goes with it, but Henry Rollins has some pretty relevant content in his diatribes imo. There's only so much meaning you can put in a sarcastic, two-minute-long spoken word piece, but behind the harsh jabs at everything, there is usually an important message.

I like the intensity. He should be in a punk band...
To Knifeboy: I never do the majority of my reading for class and I'm doing just fine. You should try it!

I think he was joking
I happen to enjoy Henry Rollins very much, while I agree that he has a strong presentation and less elaboration, I dont look to him for political advice.
I just find him to be an interesting and entertaining person, i'm going to see his spoken word in just under a month :)
Henry Rollins is my favorite person ever, I don't really even care what he has to say, he's just awesome

Favorite Black Flag song: slip it in.
Henry Rollins is a pretty alright guy, definitely no bullshit, and in interviews asks substantial questions.
