Im interested in getting one of these but the local music shop can only order one in for me if im definitly going to buy it. This leaves me with a problem because i wouldnt mind testing my new snare before i buy it...
has anyone on here got one or know where i can find soundclips or reviews at least?
im also not closed to the idea of getting a different snare but i can get good deals on the black panther range.

Hi,

Get it. Ok thats a bit much. Right, my best experience is the other night I had a gig and they were aweful engineers! Anyway they ended up leaving my snare un mic'd because the vocal mic kept picking it up and we couldn't hear our singer. So I was like :| uh oh! Apparently it cut through amazing, EVERYONE loved it and so many people asked if they could buy it off me! I of course refused!

this snare is amazing, its so versitile. I have the 14x5.5 and thats plenty! I'm afraid I have no decent sound clips as you cant hear it in the recording (you could in the studio but not in any other speakers -tw*ts!) Anyway. If you need any more info I'm here :)

Also I have the hammered version.

what kind of music do you play? im looking for a snare with a warm powerful sound but with good sensitivity. at the moment im playing in a experimental hardcore band.

I play mostly heavy metal type music, and I have the discontinued 14x3.5" phosphor bronze snare. I bought it used, and even with the stock heads on it, it sounded absolutely beautiful. Even with it's shallow depth, it sounds very full and warm, and has a seriously stunning crack to it. No sound clips yet though, sorry.

I think it would suit your experimental hardcore music very well.

I play experimental punk, Im in a really heavy band too. I use it for jazz too. Its really sensitive when tuned right and it sings too you!

I'm sorry but I haven't tried that. I'm not sure what the difference in sound would be like.
