OK let me set this up:

My band and I were over at our jam spot and playing a little bit. We decided to record it thru a laptop mic just so we could go back over what we played later. Well a few days later I'm listening to what we played and there is a part in a song we were playing where a deeper lower voice comes in and says something.

Let me preface this: The voice is not ours. In the room was me (drumming, away from the mic) our bassist was across the room (and his voice couldnt have gotten to the laptop) and our guitarist was sitting near the laptop. However his voice is very distinct and almost nasaly. The vocalist didn't do it either as you can tell (you hear his voice fade and immediately the other voice begins)

It starts about 23 seconds in

well its a notebook recording an entire band, the quality is going to be garbage, the music was good tho. if it was recorded on professional equipment it would be very enjoyable

as for the voice, i did hear something other than the singer

it could have been anyone talking just regularly and it picked it up, i wouldnt get too scared haha

Well, provided you didn't just post this to get others to listen to your music and you didn't fake the voices yourself as some kind of joke, I would say you could have a case of evp (electronic voice phenomenon) here. But you would have to be absolutely certain no one in group (or otherwise) could have been recorded along with the music. And try to rule out other possible causes first, such as some kind of interference (radio frequency perhaps) or recording over a earlier track that could have some how bled through to the new recording etc...

A good example of possible rfi (radio frequency interference) is a few times when I have been using my computer a neighbor with either a strong cordless phone or radio transmitter was picked up on my computer. I could actually hear him talking for short bursts through my computer speakers, so this type of interference is a possible explanation also.

Some experiments you could try is go back to the area where the voices were first recorded and do some more recording to see if anything new is picked up. But try to record with out your band jamming away this time. Just go there and hang out with a couple friends and start recording while you and your friends talk and do whatever. Then play it back later to see if anything else gets recorded. As long as it's a bit less noisy so you can actually here if anything is picked up. I would be interested in hearing if you pick up anything new.
