alright.. at my high school, before your senior graduation, you have to present a project.
this project must have at least 100 hours put into it, and you need proof and all that ****, plus keep a journal/log of all activity.
therein lies my question. if i were to order everything from warmoth/ebay, would the 100 hours be hard to fill up? or would i be better off ordering a blank and sculpt/route myself?
i know some guys on here have projects that last like months with a few hours put in every weekend.. but that's from scratch instruments.

I really doubt a Warmoth build would take 100.
Plus making stuff yourself is cool and would look way better to the evaluators.

i've never really put a whole guitar together, but i've done wiring stuff. i'd imagine that would be the thing that takes up the most time. it took me like a whole afternoon when i first tried tinkering around with pickups. i'm assuming you had some experience before so a warmoth project wouldn't take that long. it's basically making ikea furniture.

eh.. after some evaluation, i really don't have the experience nor the tools necessary for this.
i might just do something easy like volunteer at the local animal shelter.
bah humbug.

bah there's your first sheep right thar humbug they require a saddle don't they?.
srsly. is there that much you need to get that you don't have?
you'd need ummmmmm (it is now becoming painfully apparent that our hero's never actually built a guitar ..EEEK!)
a router
plane?
orbital sander
drill (variable speed with screwdriver bits...philips)
soldering iron
solder
some sort of finish for the wood
i'd buy in a neck with fretboard
pickups
machine heads
string guides
bridge
nut
scratch plate (buy in in a REALLY fruity colour to impress)
strap anchors and strap locks and screws
various chisels and hammer
dremmel (for the really fine adjustments for the pickup cavities)
probably forgotten a truckload but the thing is you can take your time and do a really good job and don't EVER get rid of it 'cause YOU made it..it's the only one in the world.
you CAN do it.
make yourself WANT to....yeaaaaahh!!!! :thumb:
