Alright the bass has a finished ash body, phenolic fretboard (which is basically black), black hardware, and a black pickup that I will put a wood cover on which will either be ash or the pickguard that I decide on. The pickup will be within the pickguard.
I just want some different opinions besides my own. :)
I'm going to be cutting the body shape and pickguard myself, and I have interesting design for my pickguard (surprise).

Need to see a picture of the finish to determine what would go best, tbh.

It will look like any Ash jazz. Just not the same shape.

I think Korina would look pretty cool.
I would say bubinga, if you can find a nice figure piece.
The rich red of that with the ash and the black would look beautiful.

^My avatar on my TB account is cocobolo. :p
Ebe- You bring up a really good point. Perhaps I could find a wood even more red than Bubinga. Padouk is red, but I heard it fades to brown.
Maybe Bloodwood? Any opinions?
