Hi Hi.
We've been writing some ambient[?] stuff and am at the stage where we want to gig. What I had in mind [as I'm a drummer] was having my accoustic setup with electric-kit pads in it and triggering the various sound files using them. Is this the best option? I don't however know much about the particulars for this as I've only used electric kits in more traditional setups. I've got a laptop [2.4Ghz [FBS 800], 4 Gig RAM, 256Mb Graphics Card] to utilise.

Drums will be utilised as an accompaniment to add layers, so I'll still have the ability to press stop starts on keyboards etc if required. wwwDOTmyspaceDOTcom/catfightonahotdog is the music, if it helps. Live we're thinking of having it more improvisational with loops etc.

What would you guys suggest?

Nothing?

You can do this using a trigger module, an Audio/MIDI interface, and any drum sampling software that will let you insert your own samples. You can then apply one sample to each instrument in the drum sampler.

The whole thing will probably run you at least $300 in gear, but should be stable, and pretty flexible when all is said and done.

Thanks Moseph. Any specific items you could point me in the direction of?
