Alright, so this is just a small attempt at something interesting. I'm going to play the entire album "An Accidental Memory in the Case of Death" by Eluvium, and as I listen to it, I'm going to write what it makes me think about. This could end up ages long and I really have no idea what'll come from it, but hey its a project to do. All of this is going to be written as I go, so you'll be getting a first time over copy, and I'll probably post without even going back to change anything once (Other than of course a re-scan for spelling and the like). I've added in the Track number, the track title and the length also. So, well, I highly suggest you all go check this album out, and here it goes. :chug:

Also, if a mod runs across this, can you change the title to, of course "An Accidental Memory in the Case of Death"? I pressed enter by accident before I finished writing it all in.

-----------------------------------------

(1) "An Accidental Memory" 1:11

I wake up.

My eyes are still closed but I can hear the sound of light rain,
As it strikes my bedroom window, And outside the birds sing a soulful song.

I open them, and begin to move about.

(2) "Genius and the Thieves" 2:26

I walk about my home, preparing for another day.
I eat my breakfast and spend a moment to ponder life as I glance briefly outside.
The sky is a shade of gray and the rain dances on the deck outside,
From the corner of my eye I notice a cat
Playfully looking to the birds in the tree above him.

I start my way to the piano in its setting,
Its home down a small set of stairs
Attached to my kitchen, which remains visible as I pull out the bench...

(3) "Perfect Neglect in a Field of Statues" 5:25

I sit down for a moment, and begin to touch the keys.

I begin that ritual of not first playing but feeling,
Of understanding its beauty and how it speaks to me, to all of us
As if it were merely a day to day conversation
And not the deepest feelings life has allowed me to feel.

But I neglect rather perfectly
All that happens for this moment,
And yes it is only but a moment
A blink of an eye,
But in that we both establish what we are to communicate together
And then I prepare, ready, taking a breath,

I play that first note...

(4) "Nepenthe" 3:42

I work it out.

All of it,
And it hurts
But has to be done.

Its something we all do
Whether we care to or not,
Regardless of our method we need it,
That eliptical freedom that is brought for me by the shadows I create
Using slightest but greatest movements I know of how to make,
I set it free
Watch it fly
Allow it to break from me

Then I release the pedal

(5) "In A Sense" 1:45

I head back up the small set of stairs,
Back in the kitchen I take a quick look back to the piano
As it sits there silently
Not moving
So still it would be hard to imagine it had just spoken out so much.

I go to the closet,
Pull on my shoes, My coat,
And leave the house.

(6) "The Well-Meaning Professor" 7:34

In the light rain I smile at the rain drops placed on the reflection
Of my now clean car.

I get inside, turn the car on, and begin to leave my house
Heading out to nothing in peticular at all.

There is complete silence in the car
My stereo has been broken for months
But in my head I can hear it, a work of art

Its quiet, beautiful, peaceful,
And as I drive and the minutes pass the piece builds
As all eventually do.

And then I see it, just ahead
Not even a moment away,
I make no move to avoid it, Its much too late,
I can see it very clear,
And as I hit the car about to turn into my lane
It all fades...

But not without that slight sigh, the beautiful line again...

(7) "An Accidental Memory in the Case of Death" 4:23

I wake up.

My eyes are still closed but I can hear the sound of light rain,
As it strikes my bedroom window, And outside the birds sing a soulful song.

I open them, and begin to full move about.

All things that have come, will slowly go

But not this...

I hate the way it ends with the song title in it, as it just comes across way way too cliche.

Any other ways to do it, while getting across that the final "section/song" is a memory of the original first "section/song"?

While I'm reading this I was totally envisioning it as the narrative to a short film or something with the album acting as its score. Well... I guess it wouldn't be that short, but I hope you know what I mean.

I love how you did An Accidental Memory and its reprise in the same manner, although I would totally cut out the last two lines and just leave it at I open them, and begin to move about. Like if it were set to film, I could totally see it working jeez okay.

Pretty cool man.

My issue with doing that was that it wasn't really a typical reprise. The reprise of the song that starts of the album is the same (Though either an octave higher or lower, I can't recall which) but 3 minutes longer. And so I felt that if I the actual song is longer, I shouldn't have the Poem set longer.

And it was actually cool how it happened. I came to the seventh part, and without thinking of doing a reprise I wrote the line...

"I woke up."

And then I thought 'didn't I write that somewhere before?'

And thanks for fixing the title Tojes :p Though you're right, I did like the title "An" a rather lot myself.

This.

I love the album, I've woken up to a mad foggy day both yesterday and today, and I've listened to the entire album on my way to school and before class, and its just really cool.

It is, but hey, whatever inspires you?

And no no no, its not something like "lyrics for it" I just wrote a Poem (Well sorta' a few poems) that go along with how it came across to me.

This is kinda what this forum needs I think.

*Waits for Eliminator to make some stupid comment as per usual*
