My two favorites are Sung Tongs and the new album Strawberry Jam, I'd say Sung Tongs would b your best introduction though. Or maybe Feels, I dunno. It's mostly all good.

Strawberry Jam first, I'd say it's probably the most accessible. Sung Tongs and Feels are very out there.

Feels is their best and is the one that got me into them.

Grass was the song that got me into Animal Collective, so I would say Feels. Sung Tongs is good too but I'd still say Feels is most accessible generally. Incredible band.

I think Feels would be the best album to start with, Sung Tongs didnt really do it for me, plus it seemed to deviate from the rest of their stuff. Definitely get Strawberry Jam though, it's their best yet, IMO.

I'll say Spirt They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished, just to shake things up. It's a great record.

I'm not gonna lie, I didn't really get Strawberry Jam
Sung Tongs is their best record imo
Sung Tongs is their best record imo
It's their best but it's not their most accessible, which is why I said Feels and not Sung Tongs.
yeah thats a good point. in that case i would say yeah Feels would be a good first record and then move on to Sung Tongs.

yeah Sung Tongs is wayyyyy out there. "Visiting Friends" is so good though. I think SJ is more accessible and better than Feels though.
Broken Arrow

That depends... I know alot of people that find SJ too noisy and chaotic. I don't agree with that but I do think that Feels is the better record.

But there is no noise or chaos on Strawberry Jam.

I never said there was. I said people I know said that. I can see Reverend Green being a little difficult for some to listen to.
But yeah, I think it's a pretty slick album.

Surprisingly enough, it was one of the loudest shows I've ever seen. They played for a long time though, and it was really good. The best was when they played "We Tigers." It was sick.
They played a ton of stuff I've never even heard. I liked it very much.

Animal Collective at high volumes would be intolerable.

It didn't detract from the show. I just didn't expect it.

Yeah, on their last tour they played a bunch of new jams, which were amazing. It's only too bad Deaks wasn't there.
