Since I recently got a girlfriend, I felt impelled to write her a song. So yes, it may be cheesy, and I'm still working on some of the lines (I'll point them out):
Babe, I never knew you to be like you are
What I thought of you when I saw you
That sunshine smile that was afraid to show
That you really cared, that you really knew
I could see through your smoke and mirrors
You really loved me, but dare to say
That your silence spoke of anxious waiting
But your olive eyes easily betray
No matter what you've said, or what you've done
The nervous laughs, the endless embrace
You say the same thing without any words
How can I take your face to erase? (this definitally needs work)
Oh Olive Sunshine
You could have given me any thought
Any emotion, any word
You have the dictionary of the universe
Oh Olive Sunshine, you only need one
There is love underneath a thousand blank faces
There is hate hidden in the face of Helen
How do we know, how do I know?
I found a way to bite the watermelon (funky image, but not much rhymes with Helen)
Even though it takes only 13 words
With this woman it only takes one
The literal word can never quite suffice our appetites
But staring into the olive paradise is brighter than the sun!
Bridge:
Baby I found you to be the brightest of them all
Versed in knowledge, connoisseur of joviality
Your powerful soul eclipses your artistic beauty
What can I say? What can I say?
Oh Olive Sunshine
You could have given me any thought
Any emotion, any word
You have the dictionary of the universe
Oh Olive Sunshine, you only need one
Babe, I never knew you to be like you are
What I thought of you when I saw you
That sunshine smile that was afraid to show
That you really cared, that you really knew
I could see through your smoke and mirrors
You really loved me, but dare to say
That your silence spoke of anxious waiting
But your olive eyes easily betray
Babe, I never knew you to be like you are
