I'm looking into buying one out of my Christmas money/Chanukah gelt, I have about 300 (Can.) at my disposal
are there any particular brands of electric acoustics to watch out for (in a good way or bad)? can I get a half decent one for about that much?
I'm open to ordering online if anyone knows of any good sites that ship to Canada

merci!

I made my thread too soon! Umm 300 dollars can get you a Fender series hybrid mando. It's not the greatest quality, but good for beginners. When you start getting better you'll really need to empty the wallet for a decent mandolin. I have an intermediate to decent Eastman model that costs about 900 dollars. Mandolin playing isn't cheap.

I have a mando from around the 40's its alright. But I played a Fender one it and it was really nice, and its in your price range.

If you don't need the electric part take a look at Kentucky's low end line (KM-250, etc). Should be in your price range and they're well made.
