okay... so my house mate has this bass that someone left behind and they owe some money to her so she wants to sell it. only thing is i dunno wat it is. its fairly old, has no serial numbers or anything on it. has a few scratches and the dumbshit that owned it decided to write on the head with a pen. i was thinking of sanding it back and recoating it and sell it off for a few hundred (maybe more if i can). so if you can help us out with wat sorta bass this is it would help.

I've never seen that bridge before, looks cool. Maybe take the bass to some shops and ask if they recognize it?

Thats a Hondo or Hondo II P-bass. Early to mid 80's probably.

Does that pickguard not cover all of the routing and does it sit awkwardly, or am I just seeing things?

^You're not seeing things. It's really like that.

It could be any one of a billion p-bass knockoffs from the 60s-80s.

Non-original pickguard. I had the same problem replacing it on mine til I moved the screw holes.

The black Hondo I owned (see pics) is very very similar so my money's on that.

I also owned several basses that looked very similar. Often, the headstocks are the only defining features.

Exactly the same bridge?
