The title pretty much says it, but it's kind of hard to tell if I am progressing at anything if all I do is play my bass and it's the only thing being played. Is there a program out there that I can download (hopefully for free) that will give me simple, pretty basic drum songs to play to? If this is the wrong section, sorry, I wasn't really sure where I could post it.

If you're willing to use MIDI you can use Tabit. Of course it's not going to sound like a really solid drum set, some of the drums you can listen to and just know it's MIDI, but it's better than playing with nothing. Tabit.net, I think it's like 12 bucks or something.

Or if you want something more professional, look up what Devin Townsend used to create the drums on the Ziltoid album (hilarious, btw). I'm late for work so I can't search it myself, but it's not hard to find.

You can download the demo version of FL Studio (Fruity Loops).

It as some pretty decent samples that you can mix together.
