Any recommendations for recording programs and plug ins???

I currently using adobe Audition 1.5 but was looking into Cubase 4...

Feel free to add some insight on some recording programs you have used and how they were.

Why do you need another recording rig if you have Audition? That's a pretty damn good program.

yo ygokazuki: is reaper what you use for recording? if so, could you say how it compares to other programs like audition, cubase, etc.? at $50 I'm tempted to buy it, but the low price tag also makes me suspicious.
