View Full Version : [Hard Rock?] Five recordings that need to be bashed

Since the day I touched a guitar, it has been my goal to record. The past two years have been full of nothing but noodling around, finding a cool riff, and expanding on it until it becomes a full song. I think these five tracks are the strongest I have recorded and I need feedback from the musician community. What do you like about a certain song? What do you absolutely hate about a certain song? Is the mix any good for a demo?

Also, I am incompetent when it comes to putting music into a genre so help me out here.

Also2, If you write me a good, thought-out critique, I'll do the same for you if you want me to. :)

Damn programmed drums.

:smash:

I dunno... for some reason, I really like your guitar playing, haha. I'm not guitarist, but... it sounds pretty cool for the most part.

XD

When you come off your squeals, it seems like you pause a little bit too much... I dunno, maybe work on that?

The actual quality of the recordings are pretty good, good job, man.

I know, the drumming is unfortunately fake, but **** if I can find a passable drummer in my town.

Haha, tis okay, I know what that's like (errr... well... in a different way... with a vocalist... can't really get a fake vocalist... err... that sounds even close to a real one  ).

Like I said, I really like this music for some reason. If I had mics I'd love to do some proper drums for it. Check out the Drums and Percussion section of these forums. There are a few guys with mics (one of which is a fairly good friend of mine, enemytopublic2) who would love to record over your tracks.

For better critique on your guitar playing, I'd also reccomend checking the guitar section.

As for a genre, I would say metal myself. Some of its very straight ahead, more hard rock, some of it a bit more power metal but, overall, it's most easily classified as mehtuhl.

So my girlfriend wanted me to cover a Daniel Johnston song, and this is what happened.

Sounds cool dude, definitely talented guitar work there. I got a little southern rock and mainly hard rock feel. it was good for that style, not my cup of tea but respectable .
