What kind of synth is this?

Hey, I want to start making electronic music but I'm not really sure how to start. I've got a mic, guitar etc. but I'm in the dark as far as a keyboard/synth goes. I've got a keyboard and I can input the sound from it directly to my computer, but it doesn't have the effects I want. I'm looking for something like this:

Can I download a program that makes my keyboard sound like that ? And also, do I need a drum machine?

first things first: does your keyboard have a midi output? if it does, get that bitch hooked up to your pc, stat. that way the keyboard acts like a controller (same as a mouse or computer keyboard or joystick or whatever) that you can use in conjunction with software like propellerhead reason to make pretty much any sound you can come up with.

as for drum machines, there's loads of software out there that's way more powerful than any hardware drum machine; which software to use, though, depends on what style of beats you want to program (ie real rock/metal drums, d&b-style sliced beats, four-on-the-floor 808 trance, etc).
