On my first luthering attempt, i took a beat up body from a vintage court, put putty in the wholes, sanded off the finish, and did a shitty paint job (i knew i would screw it up, so i tried to give it a beat up look, so that it would be alright), used enamel paints. The problem was, i took apart my squire p bass, and figured i would transfer everything over. The neck would not fit in the joint, so stupid me whipped out a chisel and started to widen it. I g the neck to fit, but it went on crocked, and the screw holes where different. I want to just slap some putty on the joint and try to widen it right? will it work, or will the putty be too weak? Also, how do i get the body screws holes centered with the neck ones?

that is a very unfortunate story.

if you could post pictures to give a better idea of how badly it is messed up it would be a bit easier to help out
