My band has new, professional (went to a pro studio and all) recordings finally. We're going to be releasing a 5 track album hopefully in December, but we have 2 songs complete.

Enemy
Good intro with the guitars, and the vocals go perfectly with it to give a cool garagy feel. Where's the bass? Could definetly do with some bass, but the vocals and backing vocals sound good together. Ahh a quite break. Think i heard a bit of bass. Sounds cool. Nice and simple guitar solo, with a cool effect, though it's too short :(. Anyways, i'll review your next song when i'm back on but i can't now :(

Hey man, I really appreciate it. The bass is there, Enemy was kinda rushed in the last little bit cause we had to go take care of other business lol. And yea, the bass has a mini bass solo in the acoustic part.
The guitar solo, well, it was recorded by me, and since I'm the only guitarist, and I'm not a great lead guitarist, it's just simple and short. Funny thing is... there actually is no effect on it except distortion.
Can't wait for the review of the next song, and thanks again man!

Slave to the beutiful
Great Vines sounding guitar riff to start with, and cool vocals to compliment it. The vocals don't sound quite so good in the next bit, but the chorus is awesome. I do like the heavy symbals for one thing, and they keep the instrumental part going well, before the vocals come in again. What you have got perfect is the length of the song in that it leaves you wanting more, which i always like when listening to music :) it's better than having too much

Enemy:
Good basis, but it needs some work IMO. Sound quality wasn't all that good (of course, some of this could be due to the fact that I was listening through myspace). The song was a bit repetitive, but I noticed other major problems. The arrangement was somewhat scattershot, and you guys seemed to be a bit off time at each point where you play a couple of staccato pulses at the end of each verse sequence. Also, the mixing was a bit off. The guitar solo was way too loud in the mix, and the only time I could really hear the bass was during the acoustic guitar part.
Slave to the Beautiful:
I like this song muuuch better. Better groove, better vocal melodies, better mix, better everything (and I could hear the bass this time). However, like the first song, the sound quality could've been better. You say this was done in a professional studio? If I were you I would look for another studio next time. My band is working on a home recorded album, and while it may not sound as good as many big-label records, we've been able to get some pretty sharp sounding results using a clusterf*** of various mics, mixers, software, etc. Everything seemed like it was on the verge of breaking up on these tunes, especially the vocals and the drums when loud dynamics were used. The cymbals sounded especially harsh. Do you have any idea what types of mics were being used? Did a sound engineer place the mics for you?
Sorry for being so critical. I really did like the second song and to a lesser extent the first, I just think they could've been recorded better (and played better on the first tune).

I just saw this.
Thanks for reviewing, and yea, the studio we are in is professional, but when we recorded Enemy, we were a bit rushed, thus the problem with the levels, especially on the bass and the guitar solo. We are still planning to fix it. We're going back to the studio SOON to record another song.
Aside from that, I didn't notice any of the off time stuff in the main riff, but I'll keep an eye out for it. Our drummer had been refusing to practice with us, we've just replaced him, so it may have been lack of practice on his part, which thus threw off the bassist, and then me. We may go back and re-record it, since that song is a live favourite, mostly for it's intensity and speed.
Any other reviews are still very welcome.
