Who's heard the new album? It came out yesterday. Kinda diffrent but I like it. Pharell produced two tracks on it which I thought was pretty intresting.

I really like it. "Tick Tick Boom" is so catchy.

This is band band in particular that I absolutely cannot stand.

It is the epitome of everything that is wrong with music and the major label industry today. It is the perfect example of MTV/industry formulated music designed to be shoved through radioplay, popular network, and down everyone's throat, regardless of whether or not the majority of the populous actually thoroughly enjoys it or wether they are actually talented or not. And once again, yet another band that relies on "ghost writers", so they still get the credit for writing thier own songs even though they really didn't.

See also: The Vines, The White Stripes, Maroon 5, The Killers.

But these guys were around before I Hate To Say I Told You So came out.

BRA is right though, it's total corporate garbage pedaled to make kids feel like they're part of a counterculture indie movement when really they're just feeding the machine like anyone else buying a Britney Spears album.

Kage stated it a little better than I. They are marketed as being part of this whole great "indie" sound and movement, when in reality it's completely detached. But everyone buys into it because the major labels and radio stations say so.

Since when did The Hives claim that they wrote anything but commercial catchy popmusic for the masses?

They're pretty damned open about it.
You're saying it like it's some kinda secret

I think their new album is pretty bad. But I enjoy a lot of their music
And they're an amazing and extremely tight live band, so they have my respect

Yee, I love quite a bit of The Hives' stuff, predominantly their singles and stuff before their latest two albums.

The new album is rather shoddy...

Other than about 2 songs which are decent, The Hives blow.

After "Veni Veni Vicious," I got really fed up with their music.

what?!
i saw them last night and they were one of the best live bands i have seen. down in australia they really only have a cult following, so i dunno where this 'manufactured' idea is coming from...
the venue is small, but they got every single living thing in that place rockin' and basically having a fun time. (isn't 'fun' what the whole band is about?)

and the ghost writer thing? all songs are composed by a person by the name of randy fitzimons which is rumoured the be a name that all the bands go under, so basically its pointing they finger and ghost writers.

believe me when i say they write they're own songs.
